Pablo Picasso once said: “As a child everybody is an artist. The difficulty lies in staying an artist when you are grown-up”.
Well I tried my very best! In the last 3 weeks I took some 1-3 hours per day to draw one of my macro photos showing the inside of a peony with quite a lot of entwined petals. I used dark grey-blue paper and chalk pencils. I show you the various stages from the beginning and the photo in comparison. Yesterday I put the drawing into a frame with a black passe-partout. I decided to let 2 petals run out a little of the picture as I did in my last drawing of a poppy, which is a nice little detail.
Wow!! It is beautiful!!! 🙂 You are really really talented!! 🙂
Thanks a lot Trini, I appreciate this compliment and wish you a wonderful week-end, regards Mitza
Oh, and I forgot to say, I love that Pablo Picasso quote!!! 🙂 I had never heard that before! 🙂
I just found it in a newspaper and it arrived at the right moment for my blog, hehe. But I could never be compared with this master, regards Mitza
🙂 The quote is amazing, and so is your art! 🙂
thank you, you make my day with these nice words, regards Mitza
🙂 🙂 🙂
These are spectacular, Mitza!! Really hope they make it to an exhibit or something. Superb quality and inventive with the petal sticking out. Love them. Best regards, Ellen
Thanks a lot, Ellen, hope you are fine. The problem is that I don’t even have a place at the wall to hang it up. Hope sooner or later I will find a good place for an exhibition and find people who would like to have it. We have tropical weather here, very hot, humid, sweating and thunderstorms where it’s not raining only cats and dogs but camels and elephants! Wish you a wonderful week-end, will write soon, warmest regards Mitza
Sorry to hear about the weather!! We are having almost the same here although today is less humid and hot. How about a local library or bookstore or gallery to try for a show? I know your work would sell. Forgot to say, I appreciate seeing the original and the various stages, the progression of the work in progress. Very nice to show us how you work. Try to keep cool. Bon weekend! Ellen
Liebe Grüße Mila
Beautiful!!!!!
thanks a lot for this compliment from a fellow-artist, have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
Definitely to draw!
Thank you for your comment. For Shakespeare it was “to be or not to be”, for me it is “to draw or not to draw”. It really is a very fulfilling work/hobby which makes me forget everything around me and regenerates me. Have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
Thanks for your comment. I will continue to draw, I promise. Have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
Absolutely wonderful! I think I like it better than the original! 😉
Thanks a lot for telling me that you like my drawing better than my photo. Then I have done a good work. Have a great week-end, regards Mitza
Amazing! Incredible motion in your rendering!
Thank you, that’s really a very nice comment. Have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
So beautiful!
thank you so much, regards Mitza
Beautiful work and subject.
thanks a lot for your comment which I appreciate a lot. Flowers are always a good subject, I think. Regards Mitza
Beautiful, Mitza!
Your comment is highly appreciated. Have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
And you have a good weekend too, Mitza :)9
Excellent job, Mitza! You are very gifted! I especially like the petal overlap in it (and the colors)! Wow!
I am very appreciative of E.E.Cummings’ art. Not only is he one of my very favorite poets, but i really like his paintings a lot too! The following is one by him of a peony in a vase. (Check it out, as well as some of his other stuff!) Keep up with your wonderful talent!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much, Thomas. It’s always a pleasure to read your posts and comments. I will look at it now. Thanks for sending me this link. I didn’t even know this artist yet. Have a wonderful week-end, regards Mitza
The painting of Cummings is really fantastic, Thomas. It’s very hard to paint glas. By the way, the price was fantastic, too. Wish I could earn a little part of this. Regards Mitza
It’s beautiful. You are so talented. 🙂
Thank you so much. I started to draw in my play yard and found out at this age already that drawing makes me forget all earthly troubles. Today it’s some kind of meditation. Have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
Schönes Bild, die überstehenden Blütenblätter machen es lebendiger. 🙂 Da bekomme ich richtig Lust, es auch einmal wieder zu versuchen.
Hallo Jule, vielen Dank. Man muss ja immer mal was Neues ausprobieren. Versuchs doch mal mit einer Tulpe. Ein schönes Wochenend, Gruß Mitza
Keine schlechte Idee; Tulpenfreundin, die ich nun mal bin. 😉
Oh Mitzia, this is stunning! It is something which I have sometimes thought of doing myself, but have never tried. Macros just open up another world-making flowers look other-worldly and you have captured that so beautifully in this stunning work. I love the petals straying from the frame. Real life is never rigid and set and petals move with the breeze. Lovely!
Karen.
Thank you so much for your wonderful words which I really got used to, hehe. I would name it “inside”, not only macro. I want to tell people to look inside of others, because there you might find some sort of beauty you never expected looking at the outside. Try to paint/draw yourself. Maybe it is wonderful for you, too. Have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
That is very beautiful Mitza! 😀 Keep drawing!!! I can’t even draw to save my life, so i really like it when people can draw! It’s definitely very well done! Keep going!
Thanks Alexandra. Everybody has special talents, yours is photography. Whenever I have time I will continue. Regards Mitza
Stunning!
thanks a lot, have a nice day, regards Mitza
Beautiful flower. You have talent 🙂

The answer is to draw 🙂 Beautiful work.
Thank you, I just made fun of the sentence “to be or not to be”, because for me drawing is quite necessary for living. Have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
I figured it out 😉 All your art works are very beautiful. You too, have a nice weekend, regards Alice
So beautiful! Glad you decided to draw. The photo caught my eye but your drawing really brings the flower to life.
Thank you, Cyndie, for your approval. Drawing is so necessary for me like water for a fish. Unfortunately I don’t have so much time to do it daily, therefore I photograph, because it’s quicker. Your blog is very interesting, too. Have a nice day, regards Mitza
My oh my how astounding!!!!! To draw, to draw I say!!! 🙂
Thanks for your nice comment. I saw, you’re an artist, too. Drawing is very essential for me, it’s like meditation. I forget everything around me and that’s enjoyable. I have some more paintings in my blog. Thanks for stopping and have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
Yes, its like oxygen to my soul. If I don’t create I feel like I’m dying. Its part of my life line. I will look at your art!!
Wow! This is AMAZING! You are extremely talented Mitza. I shall have a look at some more of your artwork.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Jude. I would like you to take a look at my other artwork. Have a nice day, regards Mitza
Like Picasso so profoundly stated, I was good at drawing when I was young. Now, not so much unless it’s with a camera. Love your work though and thanks for stopping by.
you are welcome, it was a pleasure stopping by and thanks for your good words. Maybe you could start drawing again, it’s such a wonderful hobby. Have a nice week-end, regards Mitza
Thank you so much for liking my recent work, it is a great privilege. Your work is completely gorgeous.
It was a pleasure and thanks for your kind words, regards Mitza
That is really nice. I can’t draw. I have to use tracing paper. You did a beautiful job recreating your flower.
thank you so much for your kind words. Maybe you have a talent for something else. Have a nice day, regards Mitza
Breathtakingly beautiful! I love flowers, too, and try to fuse myself with them via my camera. Thanks so much for visiting Clump A Day! You are so gifted.
